The result of Benjamin Graindorge’s research for a weightless structure is a table centerpiece/fruit cup prototype.
Reduced to an all skin and bones state, skeletal like, “Dress” is a humorous structure in its suspension of fragility. It is an undersized domestic alter. Numerically cut, stretched on an embroidery frame under permanent tension, balancing between craft and technology, “Dress” captures the eye.

François Bernard will present “Dress” in the Presque là trend forum at the Maison & Objets fair in hall #1. Then this piece will be displayed at the 2008 Milan furniture fair along with the “Dress” chair based on the same tension principle.

Benjamin Graindorge is one of the rising French talented designers. He graduated from l’ENSCI-les Ateliers in 2006, his “Paysage Domestic” (Domestic landscape) project was sponsored by VIA in 2007. Benjamin Graindorge was selected for two consecutive years for the Design Parade festival in Hyères. He collaborated as an assistant with Mathieu Lehanneur and the RADI designers.
