Expormim will present two new ranges designed for exterior and interior living at Milan this April. ‘Out Line’ by Nieves Contreras and ‘Nido’ by Javier Pastor confirm the Spanish maker’s strong contemporary re-positioning, alongside its classics in woven synthetic  fibres . With 50 years experience  and a presence in over  40 countries, Expormim formerly worked exclusively with an in-house design team but has now changed to external collaborators. This is a label to keep your eye on, one that is in touch with open air living and is ready to experiment with young designers.

“Out Line”by Nieves Contreras (2010)

A clean, enveloping contour gives ‘Out Line’ a contrasted edge that shifts between armchair, unit chair and even bar stool. This is a future basic for the interior developed by Nieves Contreras, a young designer now working in France who has collaborated with Gabriele Pezzini, elium studio and Pascal Mourgue. She projects ‘Out Line’ as an elegant and simple seating solution – metal-structure with stretched polyester. An archetype folded to offer more comfort. “Out line” comes in two versions: polyester or 6mm steel tube.

“Nido”par Javier Pastor (2010)

An armchair or bench seat, ‘Nido’ is built of 6mm steel tube and rods. Spanish designer and teacher Javier Pastor wanted to do a range that would find its place as naturally on a terrace as beside a pool, and may even be used in the interior. Sober and snug in spite of its light-weight metal structure, it comes in black and white finishes.
