From 31st March to 3rd April 2011 on the occasion of Art Paris, Benjamin Graindorge presents “hiddenSkin” with the design gallery YMER&MALTA, a seating unit with an infinite number of possibilities. A play on form, material, contrast and a priori aesthetics which resounds in a renewal of Benjamin Graindorge’s personal starting blocks.
Above all hiddenSkin is a purely geometrical shape. At first sight, it is an object which is there without being there – a monolith of elegance and discretion bordering on disappearing. “And then, you quickly realise that hiddenSkin proposes a second, sensual and primitive perusal. By getting closer and touching it, an ultraNatural object is discovered; its wood, leather and hyperMateriality is disconcerting, highlighting the materials. Where only touch is capable of perceiving its reality.”
